The airport of Granada, called Aeropuerto Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén (GRX), is located 17 km west of the city.
To get from the airport to the center, you have the following options:
The bus line Granada-Aeropuerto from the company ALSA connects Granada’s airport with the center, making several stops within the city and ending at the conference center (Plaza Rotary). There are also two stops in the Gran Via, one of them next to the Granada Cathedral. The total trip lasts about 45 min.
One ticket costs 3 €. There are buses from 6 am to 11:30 pm (airport to Granada) and from 5 am to 9:45 pm (Granada to airport). The schedule and frequency of the buses depend on the flights happening on each day. For example, buses from the airport to the centre depart approximately 30 minutes after the arrival of each flight.

Taxi is a very convenient way to get from Granada’s airport to downtown. The ride takes about 30 minutes. You can expect to pay 25 to 30 € during the day from Monday to Friday and 30 to 35 € on the weekend, holidays and nights.
As with taxis, the trip from the airport to the city center by car takes about 30 minutes.
Granada is not too large and the city is fairly easy to navigate with a car. If you are staying in the Albaicín neighborhood then you might not be able to arrive t the door of your hotel since there are many small side streets where cars are forbidden. This neighborhood can be difficult for parking in as well.
The rest of the city has many more parking garages and hotels with parking. Expect to pay around 20€ per day for parking downtown.
If you are not planning to get out of the city, however, you will probably not need/want a car during your stay in Granada. Using taxis and/or public buses will end up being a cheaper option, since you will save money on parking and gas. Our recommendation would be not to rent a car on arrival and only do it when you are leaving the city.
Having a car in Andalusia gives you quite a bit of freedom while making the most of your time. There are many car rental companies operating at Granada’s airport and train station, both international and local.
Generally speaking, rental cars are quite affordable in the region and the roads are in good condition. To find the best deals on rental cars, try Discover Cars, which searches through the web for the best prices.
Uber is operating in Granada. However, there are not that many drivers which can mean long waiting times. You will usually save a little bit in comparison to taxis, but it might not be worth the wait.
There are several transfer companies offering both private and shared transfers between the airport and the city center. You can find a list of options here: here.
