Where to Stay in Cadiz

The city of Cadiz is clearly divided into two sections – the historic old town and the new town next to the main beach. In general, deciding where to stay comes down to one simple question: Do you want to spend most of your time on the beach or in the old town?

Our Top Pick Hotel in Cadiz

PARADOR DE CÁDIZ

Room with ocean views at the Parador de Cádiz
Room at the Parador de Cádiz

The Parador is the only modern beach resort located within the historic center. The charming La Caleta beach is just around the corner (3 minute walk) and it’s situated between the city’s two main fortresses – San Sebastian & Santa Catalina castles. In addition, all that the old town has to offer is within walking distance.

All of the Parador’s rooms feature huge glass bifold doors that open to large balconies with beautiful sea or city views. The doors allow for the creation of an indoor-outdoor space that is bright and spacious.

More features and amenities include:

  • Several oceanfront swimming pools
  • Restaurant offering fine regional cuisine
  • Bar serving traditional tapas by the pool
  • Amazing breakfast buffet
  • Parking for 17 €/day

If you want to have it all, then look no further than the Parador de Cadiz.

OCCIDENTAL CÁDIZ

Bar & Bistro Jamar at the Occidental Hotel in Cadiz
Stylish Bar at the Occidental Hotel

The Occidental Cádiz is our pick for the best beach hotel in the new city. It’s a 4-star hotel located just one block away from De La Victoria beach. The common areas feature stylish but informal modern décor thats looks as though it was recently renovated. The rooms are more conservative and traditional in appearance but quite large in size and feature soft, plump beds.

While the hotel doesn’t have a swimming pool, there is both a restaurant and a café on the premises.

The old town is a 20-min walk or 10-min bus ride away. The bus stop is 2-min from the hotel. On site private parking is available.

For the price to quality ratio, it’s difficult to beat the Occidental.

HOTEL CASA DE LAS CUATRO TORRES

Spacious room at Hotel Casa de las Cuatro Torres in Cádiz
Room at Hotel Casa de las Cuatro Torres

Hotel Casa de las Cuatro Torres is our top pick for staying in the old town. The hotel occupies one of Cadiz’s most important historical buildings from the 18th century and it’s within walking distance to all the sights.

The building itself makes this accommodation very special. It was designed in neoclassical style with local influences. As its name indicates, it houses four of the over 130 iconic towers that rise from Cadiz’s old town. After decades of decay, it was painstakingly restored and opened to the public in 2015.

This stylish boutique hotel offers a large variety of accommodation options: standard and premium rooms, studios and apartments (for up to 4 people). Each room or apartment has been named after a famous sailor who pass through Cadiz in the 18th century.

All of the rooms feature exposed stone walls and wooden beams, revealing the beauty of the raw structural materials. The décor is traditional, elegant and cozy.

We love the fact that guests are allowed to explore a tower and enjoy the wonderful views from the lovely rooftop terrace.
